Locally, Gartenbau-Versicherung VVaG works closely with the KBC Group, an international financial company with many years of expertise in the insurance market. The KBC Group takes care of local processing and, if necessary, Gartenbau-Versicherung VVaG provides support with its specialist expertise in order to create additional added value for Belgian horticultural businesses.
"Belgian horticulture enjoys a very good reputation. We are confident that this strategic step and the cooperation with the KBC Group will further strengthen our position as a reliable partner in the international agricultural insurance business," says Christian Senft, CEO of Gartenbau-Versicherung VVaG, explaining the decision to enter the market. Nele Vandaele is General Manager Policy non-life at KBC Insurance, she emphasises: "The Greenhouse Horticulture sector is important in Belgium. It is a stable sector with ever-growing companies. We are proud that, with KBC, we can call on the expertise of Gartenbau-Versicherung VVaG for the insurance of these companies and thus support greenhouse horticulture in Belgium even better."
The main focus in Belgium is on larger companies. Initially, the insurance will mainly cover greenhouse businesses specialising in vegetable cultivation. This targeted focus makes it possible to guarantee customised and optimal cover for the relevant target group.
