storm occurred particularly in central Greece. The amounts of rain that fell there exceed all measurements taken so far. The water masses particularly affected horticultural businesses with tomato production, but also pot and young plant companies. Representatives of Gartenbau-Versi-cherung have already been able to visit six of the seven destroyed companies in order to assess the damage and initiate first measures of claim settlement. The seventh farm is still cut off from the outside world. There is a regular exchange of information by telephone to provide initial support.

The top priority of Gartenbau-Versicherung is to help the affected member companies as quickly as possible, to settle the claims and to support the members in restoring their existence. Advance pay-ments are also planned to ensure that the horticultural businesses can continue to operate. "Our thoughts are with our Greek members," emphasises Christian Senft, Chairman of the Board of Gartenbau-Versicherung. "We are determined to do everything in our power to help them in this difficult time. Gartenbau-Versicherung stands by their side and will settle the claims as quickly and efficiently as possible. We have a local presence and are working closely with our members to en-sure they get the support they desperately need."
