Award winning Dianthus in the US
Cultivtate Ohio is back and with it the Greenhouse Grower´s 2023 Medal of Excellence Award. In the category Reader´s Choice the Dianthus series "Capitán" from Selecta North America has been awarded with the Medal of Excellence.

"Capitán" is a very attractive series with strong growing bicoulored varieties with rich fragrance and which are suitable for large pots and containers.The series is part of the great Dianthus offensive programme Ball / Selecta North America have started last year. Selecta One is the only USDA-approved breeding company supplying Dianthus and Pot Carnation cuttings from offshore production into the United States.
The breeding of the award winning series has been made in the Selecta headquarter in Stuttgart/Germany. Capitán is marketed since years succesfully in Germany and all over Europe.
Most recently the variety 'Aura' has been introduced and is highly appreciated in the market. It is called 'Magnifica' in the US.
Winning the award is considered a great success of team work between Selecta and Ball from breeding via production and supply chain to sales and marketing in the States.
