The dedicated gardener is vividly remembered by regular IPM visitors - he was regularly seen at his stand and in the aisles of the trade show in a black suit and top hat. In doing so, he paid tribute to the well-known poet and storyteller Hans Christian Andersen. Under the name "Fairy Tale Plants," his nursery PKM markets various genera, especially potted campanula, but also lavendula and rhipsalidopsis.
Kristian Madsen energetically developed his parents' business into one of Denmark's largest nurseries from 1983 onwards. It was important for him to use technical innovations and to always be open to new ways. He was particularly characterized by his employee orientation and his friendly manner, with which he established many contacts within Denmark and also internationally. In 2011, he became president of the Dansk Gartneri association and remained committed to his industry until 2015.
