Gertrude Jekyll Named World’s Favourite Rose 2025

Since its introduction at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 1986, Gertrude Jekyll has exemplified the qualities of a classic English rose, combining rich fragrance, elegant form, and a timeless charm that reflects the spirit of the great garden designer after whom it is named.

The WFRS Hall of Fame was established in London in 1968 and recognises exceptional roses through a ballot conducted among its member countries every 3 years. The first rose inducted was the cultivar ‘Peace’ in 1976. Since then, many outstanding roses have been honoured, including David Austin’s Graham Thomas® (Ausmas) in 2009.
