The Vietnam Ornamental Creature Association was established in 1989 under a decision of the Government of Vietnam. Since then, it has grown into one of the country’s leading horticultural organisations, uniting more than 700,000 members, including artisans, scientists and entrepreneurs active across Vietnam’s ornamental plant, landscape and garden sectors.

For more than three decades, the association has supported the development of ornamental horticulture as both a cultural tradition and an increasingly important economic activity in Vietnam.

Rising urban demand, strong cultural traditions and increasing investment have helped drive rapid growth in Vietnam’s ornamental horticulture industry. The sector now covers around 60,000 hectares of flower and ornamental plant production, generating approximately USD 2.1 billion annually.

Vietnam’s export activity is also expanding. In the first two months of 2026 alone, the country’s fresh flower and ornamental plant exports exceeded USD 45 million, reflecting growing international demand for Vietnamese floriculture products.

Production is distributed across several important horticultural regions. Da Lat in Vietnam’s Central Highlands is widely recognised as the country’s leading flower production centre thanks to its cool climate and specialised flower farms. In northern Vietnam, Hanoi and surrounding provinces maintain strong ornamental plant traditions and domestic markets.

Additional production areas include Hai Phong, a major northern port city; Nam Dinh, an agricultural province in northern Vietnam; and Lao Cai, a mountainous region near the Chinese border where diverse climatic conditions support expanding horticultural activity.

We look forward to partnering with AIPH members and strengthening international collaboration in ornamental plants and flowers Nguyen Manh Tuyen, Deputy Chief of Office of the Vietnam Ornamental Creature Association

For global growers and industry partners, Vietnam Ornamental Creature Association’s entry into the AIPH network highlights the rising importance of Southeast Asia within the international ornamental horticulture industry.
