The Winners of "IPM Novelty 2026"

The "IPM Novelty" competition, initiated by the Central Horticultural Association (ZVG), was held for the 17th time. During the festive opening ceremony on the first day of the trade fair, the best new introductions of the year were honored in various categories. The award-winning plants are on display throughout the entire fair at the Horticultural Information Center in Hall 4.

Here are the Winners:

Perennials Category

The company Plantipp BV (Netherlands) won with the Yucca ‘French Flag’ PBR. This drought-resistant variety is ideal for Mediterranean gardens and is perfectly equipped for climate change.

Bedding and Balcony Plants Category

In this category, the company HilverdaFlorist (Netherlands) won with the Garden Gerbera Garvinea® Sweet Pastry. This robust Gerbera impresses with its trendy color and compact growth.

Cut Flowers Category

The prize went to the company Marginpar B.V. (Netherlands) for the Clematis AMAZING®™ TOKYO. With its sturdy stems and open flower shape, it offers diverse possibilities for floristic use.

Flowering Houseplants Category

The company Anthura BV (Netherlands) secured the victory with the Tillandsia Camina®. This vigorous Tillandsia captivates with a richly branched pink-violet bloom in contrast to dark green foliage.

Spring Category

The company Suntory Flowers Europe (Netherlands) convinced with the Pericallis x hybrida Senetti® Blue Spoon. The striking blue "spoon-shaped flowers" with a yellow center make it an immediate eye-catcher.

Balcony Fruit and Vegetables Category

The company Fitzgerald Nurseries Ltd. (Ireland) was honored for the Ficus carica Fignomenal. This variety grows unusually dwarf-like and is ideal for urban gardens in limited spaces.

Tub Plants Category

Diderk Heinje Pflanzenhandelsgesellschaft (Germany) won with the Rhododendron ‘Grazeasy® Purple’. This hybrid displays intense lilac-colored flowers and is versatile as a solitary plant or in a tub.

Woody Plants Category

Kordes Jungpflanzen Handels GmbH (Germany) won with the Cercis griffithii Blue Lagoon. This small tree captivates with heart-shaped blue leaves and an early bloom.
