Container Centralen takes firm action against non-genuine labels

Container Centralen has launched a coordinated European initiative to protect the integrity of the CC Pool following the discovery of non-genuine labels in several regions. The company is intensifying monitoring and enforcement efforts to ensure the reliability and trustworthiness of the system.

Key measures include the deployment of dedicated European control teams scanning over 20,000 labels each month and full inspections at all depots. Every container returned with a non-readable label—whether a counterfeit or a damaged genuine CC TAG6—is subject to verification and action.

Container Centralen is also expanding its Verifying Partners Program, a network of certified partners authorized to inspect containers, remove non-genuine labels, and report directly to CC. In addition, the organization is working closely with the investigations agency PSG Recherche to identify and prosecute those involved in label counterfeiting. A reward of €75,000 is offered for information leading to a conviction. Container Centralen emphasizes that the production, sale, purchase, or use of fake CC identification marks is a criminal offense. The company is fully prepared to pursue legal action against any party engaging in such activities.
