Recyclable young plant trays made from more than 80 percent PCR

A clear sign of greater resource conservation and climate protection: Pöppelmann TEKU is causing a stir in the "green industry" with its recyclable young plant trays in circular grey made from more than 80 percent post-consumer recyclate (PCR).

The plastics specialist is thus dispensing with non-recyclable black material in the product segment of propagation trays and at the same time offering the usual high Pöppelmann quality. The resource-saving properties of the products are confirmed by the Blue Angel eco-label and the RecyClass and Cyclos certifications.

First-class quality, smooth automated processes

The new young plant trays in Circular grey are opaque and UV-resistant. They achieve these properties with a plastic that does not require any black pigments - this is unique in the industry to date. The trays are optimised to meet the needs of young plants. Their design promotes ideal irrigation and drainage - and therefore healthy growth with shorter cultivation times. The stable shape and reinforced edge of the trays support smooth automation. They therefore fulfil the central requirements of professional horticulture and stand for efficient production processes.

More focus on the circular economy

The new young plant trays from Pöppelmann TEKU consist of at least 80 per cent high-quality post-consumer recyclate (PCR), i.e. material that is obtained by recycling previously used products from household recycling collections. After use, the young plant trays can be fully recycled again. This is how Pöppelmann TEKU makes true circular economy possible. The trays in the colour Circular grey bear the Blue Angel eco-label and have RecyClass certification, which confirms a recyclate content of at least 80 percent. The Cyclos certification also confirms 100 per cent recyclability via the German Dual System (DSD) and comparable recycling collections.

Conserving resources has long been standard

With the new young plant trays in Circular grey, Pöppelmann TEKU is once again setting new standards. The range from the plastics specialist for professional horticulture is now largely made from PCR and can be recycled after use. After all, a functioning circular economy is demonstrably the greatest lever for reducing greenhouse gas emissions - and thus for greater climate protection. TEKU as long since made its circular plant pots in the Circular360 category made from at least 80 per cent PCR in the plastic used the standard. The young plant trays range is now following suit with the new products in Circular grey. To standardise the range, the trays previously available in the colour Circular natural grey are also being converted to Circular grey.

"More and more companies in the 'green sector' also want to make their production processes more sustainable. This is where we come in and support professional horticulture with modern products that optimise plant growth while protecting the environment and climate," explains Sven Hoping, Division Manager at Pöppelmann TEKU.
